THE GATEWAY

NASA has released an animation of what it says will be the space station orbiting the Moon. It’s called the Gateway. The Idea is that astronauts will arrive from the Earth at the Gateway and prepare for a trip to the Moon in a separate lunar lander spacecraft. EXPAND TARRIFS?
The Chinese auto industry is facing tariffs on its electric vehicles (EVs). Europe has already moved and the US says it will increase tariffs too. Another vehicle association is asking the Biden Administration to expand tariffs to its product- golf carts. The Chinese industry has a surplus of carts and has been sending them stateside. Fortune reports on the two big US companies asking for help.
ANOTHER JETMAKER, PLEASE
For a couple of decades now Boeing and Airbus have dominated the jet manufacturing market. Is there a need for another jetmaker? The man who runs United Airlines thinks so. He talked to The Air Current.
BUILDING ON THE MOON
Moon bases will need to be built on the surface with materials already there. A few years back I wrote about the efforts and experiments on the International Space Station to come up with a way to bind lunar regolith into structures. I called it “Legos on the Moon?” The Europeans are now looking at making actual bricks on the surface of the Moon.
